8th European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL), 05 – 07th of October 2015 in Bordeaux (France)

Intelligent logistics solutions such as ITS, electronic freight, intelligent cargo, etc. are the main
catalysts for innovative Transport Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Intelligent logistics
solutions are mainly determined by increased use of inter-connected information and
communication technology (ICT) including data sharing, knowledge transfer, cooperation and
collaboration. While experts estimate that by the year 2020 ~30 000 000 000 inter-connected
devices will be in circulation, today the Logistics- and Supply Chain Industries are in a
revolution: The intelligent logistics solution approach extends the WEB2.0 technologies in
logistics and supply chain management to a holistic digital economy.
This year’s ECITL picks up this approach and in-depth technologies as Intelligent Transport
Systems (ITS), Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I), etc. These
technologies are not only essential for the introduction of Electronic Freight (e-freight); but they
are also an innovative trend enabling sustainable logistics, intelligent cargo and resource-efficient
employment of resources. The deployment of ITS helps to strengthen the entire logistics and
supply chain network and to engineer more robust and resilient supply chains.

The 8th ECITL will highlight the emerging trends in the field of the deployment of ITS and will
focus on the sub-themes:

· (Co-operative) Intelligent Transport System for Logistics
· eFreight
· Intelligent Cargo
· Logistics in Smart Cities / Urban Logistics
· Sustainable Cooperation between Stakeholders in Logistic Value Chains
· Safety and Security in Logistics and Supply Chains

During the ECITL professionals and specialists from the industry, governments and research in
the field of Transport Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information and Communication
Technologies and Intelligent Transport Systems will come together to exchange knowledge,
discuss innovative and emerging trends and to build national and international partnerships.

The ECITL 2015 is organised as a Scientific Day and two Industry Days:

· Scientific Day – 5 October 2015, 12:00 am
The Scientific Day is the official opening of the ECITL conference and consists of 2 parallel
sessions where invited scholars and researchers present its double-blind reviewed research
paper.

· Industry Days – 6 & 7 October 2015, 09:00 am
The Industry Days are organised as Executive Sessions and Special Interest Sessions running
in parallel.

Executive Sessions
In the ECITL’s Key Note Sessions, presenters from leading European and international
companies and research institutions will present emerging trends related to the field of
Transport Logistics, Supply Chain Management, ICT and ITS.

Special Interest Sessions
The Special Interest Sessions are tailor-made and focusing on specific topics. They
explore emerging trends related to sustainable logistics, electronic freight, intelligent
cargo and the deployment of ITS.

Target Groups
The target groups of the ECITL are all stakeholders and investors who are involved in the field
of Transport Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

Conference Language
The official language of the ECITL conference is English.

Conference Organization Team
The 8th ECITL conference is co-organised by the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences
(FHV) and the European CIP project CO-GISTICS coordinated by ERTICO – ITS Europe. In
additional, the 8th ECITL conference is organised in conjunction with the 22nd ITS World
Congress.
