32nd International Supply Chain Conference in Berlin A World in Motion – meet the logistics and SCM experts
The 32nd International Supply Chain Conference will take place in Berlin from Oc-tober 28 to 30, 2015. Organiser BVL International is expecting more than 3,000 partici-pants from around the world. In 2014, this annual gathering of logistics and supply chain management was attended by logistics managers and experts from around 40 nations. The theme of this year’s event is “A World in Motion”.
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Federal Economics Minister Sigmar Gabriel, has agreed to speak at the opening event of the conference, which means that BVL will once again be welcoming a member of the federal government to the conference this year. Sigmar Gabriel’s ministry is of importance for the logistics sector in a variety of ways. He is responsible for economic affairs and energy – and has just pre-sented the report of the expert commission “Strengthening Investment in Germany”, a report that focuses on issues that are of central relevance for logistics.
Top speakers from industry, trade and logistics services will provide up-to-date infor-mation and plenty of food for thought. The first-rate speakers include Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Board member at Daimler Trucks & Buses, Philipp Schröder, Country Director Tesla Motors, Gisbert Rühl, CEO at Klöckner, and Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO of Hapag Lloyd AG. One speech that will embody the conference theme in a very special way is the keynote at the Gala on the evening of day one of the conference, which will be held by Dr. Auma Obama, older half-sister of US President Barack Obama. The Kenyan national is the initiator and Chief Executive of the Sauti Kuu Foundation, “Strong Voices”. The goal of the Foundation is to give children in Africa the opportunity to take charge of their own lives.
All in all, the conference is expected to comprise twelve keynotes in full session, 16 topic tracks and four workshops. Around 200 exhibitors will be inviting participants to their stands to talk about their products and solutions, and there are numerous lounges where attendees can expand their professional networks.
