SELIS 2017 Athens Workshop: Setting the foundations of a Shared European Logistics Intelligent Information Space

The SELIS Project (http://www.selisproject.eu/) organizes the “2017 Athens Workshop” to discuss and frame a European Green Logistics Strategy that will be tested in 8 Individual large scale Living Labs throughout Europe.

A consortium of 38 European companies has put forward a very ambitious vision: “deliver a Platform for pan-European Logistics Applications”. Dr. Katsoulakos, Project Coordinator, explains this vision: “Through SELIS we embrace the wide spectrum of logistics perspectives and aim at creating Green Logistics operational and strategic business tools, that are both unifying the supply chain and innovative”.

The SELIS Consortium is exceptionally strong, comprising of logistics service providers, ICT providers and research organizations that leverage European and global Intellectual Property from over 40 projects. It will deliver Common Communication and Navigation Platforms for pan-European logistics applications; this concept will be deployed and proven in 8 principal logistics communities, termed SELIS living labs.

The mission is to create a Shared European Logistics Intelligent Information Space that will become a growing network of logistics communities, the SELIS Community Nodes, so as to facilitate the Next Generation Collaborative-Responsive-Agile green supply chains.
